Nagaon/Tezpur, June 01 : In a horrifying incident, Dr. Seuj Kumar Senapati, Medical Officer posted in Udali Model, Hojai was brutally and barbarically assaulted by relatives/attendants of a deceased patient on Tuesday.
Senapati, who is a pass-out of Tezpur Medical College & Hospital recently joined duty under NRHM. He was performing his Covid Duties with utmost dedication in the grave situation.
Tezpur Medical College Student’s Union condemned this barbaric act and has demanded capital Punishment to the assaulters. TMCSU in its official statement said, Dr. Seuj Kr Senapati (Pass out of Tezpur Medical College & Hospital) joined his duty as a MO under NRHM just few days ago. He is brutally beaten up by the attendants of patient today. A time when Doctors are giving 24 hours to save a patient life during the vivid crisis period this is what people are giving them in return. Will the Govt of Assam will act now? Will he get Justice ? The assaulters should be arrested as soon as possible. We demand strict punishment to them. This is inhuman and barbaric”.
