Tezpur : Urgent meeting held with Health Officials after surge in covid cases among children

In view of the rising number of Covid positive cases among children in the 0-18 years category, an urgent meeting with Health department officials was convened today at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office under the chairmanship of DC Bhupesh Chandra Das. Also present were CEO, Zila Parishad Diganta Baishya, SP Dr. Dhananjay Ghanawat, ADCs Romy Baruah, Banti Talukdar, Dyotiva Bora and senior district administration along with Health department officials.

The current situation in the district was thoroughly discussed and certain key decisions taken during the meeting:

➡️ Convert the Paruwa Covid Care Centre into a CCC specifically for women and children

➡️ Prepare the Ghoramari Model Hospital to be used as a CCC in case of rise in the number of Covid positive cases

➡️ In view of the anticipated third wave of Covid which is expected to affect children, it was decided to keep separate dedicated beds in the ICU at TMCH exclusively for children.

➡️ In view of the latest guidelines issued by the Government for management of Covid 19 in Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), it was decided to make an assessment of the requirement of wheelchairs for persons with mobility issues.
In addition, it was decided to keep provisions for adaptive beds for PwDs and also open psychological counseling services.

The district administration is closely monitoring the situation in the district and taking every possible step to contain the spread of Covid19 cases in the district.
