Tezpur, June 13 : Sonitpur Police in a joint operation with Biswanath Police and Itanagar Police, rescued one 7 year old girl Kalyama Gowala D/o Dipak Gowala R/o Tinkharia TE, PS Dhekiajuli, from Daporiju District of Arunachal Pradesh in connection with Dhekiajuli PS case no 208/2021, U/S- 363/366(A)/371/34 IPC
Human traffickers Irfan Khan of Dakshin Morangaon (Borgang), P/S – Behali , Dist – Biswanath Chariali, Irfan @ Sanu & Ashish of Dhekiajuli were arrested in this connection. The search is on to nab another associate veteran trafficker Ashis Panika @ Babu of Biswanath chariali & the buyer of the trafficked child.
They sold Kalyama to one lady Parbati Dupit @ Anaya Mara of Itanagar for Rs. 1,20,000. Parbati further sent the girl for domestic works to Daporiju.
Sonitpur Police while taking to Twitter wrote, “We appreciate the hard work of IO SI Bipul Biswas. Thanks Itanagar Police & Thanks Biswanath Police for their cooperation in this rescue operation. We request all the parents to be aware and not to fall prey to human traffickers”.
