31st death anniversary of ‘Bodofa’ Upendra Nath Brahma observed by West Tezpur ABSU

Tezpur, May 01 : The West Tezpur Regional Boro Student’s Union (ABSU) on Saturday observed the 31st death anniversary of ‘Bodofa’ Upendra Nath Brahma at the Office premises of All Bodo Student’s Union in Bandarmi area of Tezpur.

General Secretary of West Tezpur ABSU, Rupjyoti Boro inaugurated the programme and President, Jiku Boro hoisted the organizational flag in presence of other union body members.

The advisor of West Tezpur Regional Boro Student’s Union and Tezpur based Assam Tribune Journalist, Shri Shambhu Boro also joined the Sradhanjali event to pay floral tributes.

It may be noted that, the event was organized pertaining to all Covid protocols and guidelines set by the Government.

Upendranath Brahma was an Indian Bodo social activist and the former president of All Bodo Students’ Union. The title of Bodofa (Guardian of Bodos) was posthumously conferred upon Brahma on 8 May 1990 in recognition of his vision and leadership. His life is celebrated each year on the anniversary of his death, which is now called Bodofa Day.
