Sonitpur, December 6, 2025 (Saturday): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Sonitpur addressed the media and expressed strong confidence ahead of the upcoming elections.
Speaking to the press, BJP Assam Pradesh Spokesperson Kishore Bhattacharya stated, “In the upcoming elections, the NDA will secure 100 seats. The opposition alliance has no ideological similarity. Whilst Lurinjyoti Gogoi speaks about indigenous issues, Akhil Gogoi prioritises the interests of Muslim immigrants. Such contradictory positions clearly demonstrate that the alliance is directionless. The government has been firm in its actions, including eviction drives against lands allegedly grabbed by suspected immigrants, and these efforts will continue in the interest of protecting indigenous rights and district security. We cannot allow our land, culture, and security to be compromised by immigrant-centric politics.”
Speaking further, BJP Media Panelist Ronisha Datta said, “The opposition continues to set misleading narratives. We strongly maintain that they have shown little commitment towards safeguarding the interests of indigenous communities. There is also widespread concern that if the opposition comes to power, they may reverse ongoing administrative actions and restore disputed settlements to their previous status. The people of Assam deserve clarity and consistent policy—something only the BJP has demonstrated.”

Highlighting the progress achieved in the district, BJP Sonitpur District President Madhusmita Hazarika Deka said, “The BJP government has delivered unprecedented development in Sonitpur district. Transformative schemes such as Orunodoi, Nijut Maina, the rollout of domestic LPG connections, and the granting of land pattas to 3.33 lakh tea garden workers have made a direct positive impact on thousands of families. This development journey will continue with even greater momentum.”
Addressing the media, BJP Sonitpur Media Convenor Mondeep Das added, “The overwhelming support from the people of Sonitpur reflects their trust in the BJP’s governance and vision. We remain committed to ensuring that every government initiative reaches the last mile and to safeguarding the interests of our indigenous communities.”
