On March 23, 2024, a training program for PWD Polling Personnel who are engaged in the Parliamentary Election 2024 for the 11-Sonitpur HPC was organized by the Training Cell of the office of the District Election Officer, Sonitpur at the auditorium of Tezpur Academy School, Tezpur.
The District Commissioner and RO of 11-Sonitpur HPC, Shri Deba Kumar Mishra, visited the training venue and interacted with the trainees. In his address to the gathering, the DC emphasized the importance of an inclusive election, where all eligible sections of society participate in this significant democratic process.
11-Sonitpur HPC has planned three Model PWD Polling Stations: one in Dhekiajuli and two in Tezpur, to be staffed by PWD Polling Personnel. The training program aimed to equip the personnel with the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out their duties effectively during the upcoming elections.
