Tezpur: Jivanti Boxing Centre inaugurated in Ghoramari under Dabur CSR Initiative

Tezpur, December 1, 2025 (Monday): In a significant boost to grassroots boxing in the Sonitpur district, the CSR wing of Dabur India Limited, Tezpur Unit, inaugurated the new Jivanti Boxing Centre at Ghoramari near Dabur’s Tezpur plant.

The ceremony, held on November 21, 2025 (Friday), was attended by dignitaries including Additional District Commissioner Mrs Kabita Konwar, Mr Digvijay Choudhary (Unit Head, Dabur Tezpur), Mr Surendra Yadav (Unit HR Head), Mr Bhaskar Bezbaruah (OC, Sadarthana, Tezpur Police Department), Miss Sima Bora (IC, Salonibari Police Outpost), Mr Jiten Borthakur (President, Tezpur District Sports Association), Mr Anand Mochahari (Secretary, Assam Boxing Youth Commission), Mr Tankeswar Ojha (President, All Assam Physical Instructors Association), Mr Rakeshwar Brahma (Former MLA, Majbat Samashti), Mr Gopal Boro (Social Worker), Mr Sanjay Brahmah (State Boxing Referee) and Mr Bikash Chetry (Social Media Expert).

The inauguration, which began at around 11:30 am and concluded at 2:30 pm, marked the opening of a fully equipped boxing centre with the capacity to train 80 to 100 students. The centre is expected to become a vibrant sporting hub for aspiring boxers in and around Ghoramari. Representatives from the Sports Association of Assam pledged their support for the Jivanti Boxing Centre in the coming months, laying a strong foundation for its future development.

This Quarter’s Success for Jivanti’s Boxers

On 30 November 2025, building on the momentum, boxers from the newly opened Jivanti Boxing Centre delivered a strong performance at the All Assam Inter District Boxing Championship in Barpeta. In the youth category, two boxers secured bronze medals: Shri Akash Rai and Miss Alisa Topno. This marks an impressive beginning for the club’s competitive journey at the state level.

These early achievements highlight the potential of the young athletes and reinforce the positive impact of the CSR-backed boxing initiative. The success brings pride to the community and the centre.
