As part of the ongoing Rashtriya Poshan Maah, along with the rest of the state, Sishu Mangal Divas was observed on thursday by Tezpur Urban ICDS project at Sikshak Bhawan with the aim to sensitize the community on locally available nutritious food and in order to create awareness about complementary feeding.
The ceremony was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Bhupesh Chandra Das by lighting the ceremonial lamp in presence of SDO (S) and i/c DSWO Dipti Morang, CO, Tezpur, Pankaj Bora, CDPO, Tezpur Urban, District Coordinator of Unicef, Protim Goswami, Nutritionist, TMCH, team of Poshan and others.
A symbolic annaprasanna program was also organised along with a demonstration of locally available nutritious food cooked by local women as part of a recipe competition. A food art demonstration was also organised.
