14 March, 2024: In a tragic incident, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Mozamil Hazarika, serving with the Sonitpur District Police and posted at Dhekiajuli Police Station met with a road accident. The mishap occurred at Bhojkhowa Chapari Chariali.
As per reports say, ASI Mozamil Hazarika was returning to Tezpur after completing official duties. He had been to the Marigaon Court to dispose of some evidence. Driving his personal vehicle, the ASI encountered an unfortunate turn of events near Bhojkhowa Chapari where ASI Hazarika lost control of his car, veering off the road and crashing into a divider. The impact was severe, resulting in significant damage to the vehicle. The accident occurred around 8:00 PM. The vehicle involved in the accident is a Mahindra XUV 300, bearing the registration number AS12-W-9758.
Local residents and passersby rushed to the scene and immediately called for medical assistance. ASI Mozamil Hazarika was swiftly transported to the Hospital, where the injuries proved fatal, and ASI Hazarika was pronounced dead.
