North Assam Distributors Association, Tezpur requests 24×7 Business Operations
Tezpur, March 26: The North Assam Distributors Association, Tezpur, affiliated with the North East Distributors Association, has formally appealed to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam, Sri Himanta Biswa Sarma, requesting the extension of 24×7 business operations to all districts in the state. The request, dated March 26, 2025, highlights the significant economic and social benefits of round-the-clock commercial activities.
In their letter, the association expressed deep appreciation for the Chief Minister’s leadership and his unwavering commitment to Assam’s development. They acknowledged the government’s progressive decision to allow three districts to operate businesses 24×7, recognizing its positive impact on the local economy and public convenience.
However, the association emphasized that this benefit should not be limited to select districts but should be extended across the state. They argued that various businesses, including pharmacies, restaurants, retail shops, and entertainment venues, would gain immense advantages from the flexibility to operate without restrictions on hours.
The key points highlighted in their appeal include:
- Boosting Economic Growth and Job Creation: Extended business hours would lead to increased revenue, encourage investment, and create more employment opportunities for the people of Assam.

The letter has also been copied to the Minister of Welfare of Tea Tribes and Adivasi, as well as the Minister of Labour and Welfare, for their information and necessary action.
