Lokabandhu Day was observed by Indian Medical Association, Tezpur Branch on 04/09/2023 with great enthusiasm .The day started with
floral tribute & homage paid to Lokabandhu Dr.Bhubaneswar Barooah.
In the evening, 130 nos.of earthen lamps were lighted along with illumination of IMA House Complex.
A meeting was held in the evening in which discussions were made on the life history and contributions of the noble soul.
An official publication’ of IMA Tezpur Branch ‘the rhythm ‘ was released on the occasion which was dedicated to 130 Birth Anniversary of Lokabandhu Late Dr Bhubaneswar Barooah.
IMA Tezpur Branch also launched IMA Aao Gaon Chalen Project at Tal Gereki(adopted village) at Tezpur followed by a multi -speciality medical/health check-up camp and awareness meeting . Kishi Sakhi Mamoni Ghosh, Jibika Sakhi Nilima Swargiary and BC Sakhi Doli Das Sarkar attended the camp.
Doctors attenting the camp were Dr Dwipen Mahanta,Dr Pradip Kr Sarma, Dr Dhiraj Singh Sangwan, Dr Queen Gogoi Das,Dr Rupam Das,Dr Arundhati Goswami,Dr Sumita Gogoi Hazarika and Dr Abhinandan Goswami.
Approximately, 80-90 patients attended the camp. A Memorandum was submitted to the District Administration for Control of Plastic Pollution and Parthenium Weed Control as a part of Community Service.
