Tezpur : Third Anniversary celebration of NEP 2020 by KVS for schools of Sonitpur; press meet held

The Press Meet organised by KVS for the schools of Sonitpur District on the occasion of the third anniversary celebration of NEP 2020, was co-ordinated by KV No. 2 AFS Tezpur and held at KV No.4, Central University, Tezpur on 28th July,2023. Providing an overview of NEP 2020, the main concepts of NEP 2020 like Change in school structure from 10+2 to 5+3+3+4, Balvatika, Foundational Literacy and Numeracy, Art and Sports integrated learning, Vocational courses, Development of TLMs, NIPUN Bharat, Vidyanjali etc were all touched upon in their presentation. Glimpses of the best practices undertaken by the vidyalaya in the implementation of NEP 2020 were also showcased.

Mr Sanjay Sarkar, Principal KV No2 AFS Tezpur highlighted how Balvatikas take care of the precious formative years of children which lacked a standardised and structured direction prior to NEP 2020. Emotional development and nurturing of children of this stage was hitherto neglected. He also stressed upon the relevance of NIPUN Bhatat, PM Shri schools, Vidyanjali etc as well.
Mr. Rajesh Kumar Verma maintained that the core concepts of NEP and various activities conducted as a part of its implementation would all culiminate in the fulfilment of the dream of Atma Nirbhar Bharat.

Mr. Uttam Kumar Puzari emphasised how the principles of the New Education Policy is enough to decide where India would be in the next 10 years. He lay stress on how a multitude of activites could be taken up to develop critical thinking skills and Problem Solving abilities of students. He pointed out how the NEP offers ample scope to incorporate Conservation of resources, Environmental conservation, Development of Life Skills etc among students .

Mrs Rinjumoni Kalita maintained that the Policy would bring about transformational changes in the field of Education in our country. ‘Inclusivity’, according to her is one of the major highlights of the policy. Over and above all, it serves to develop a sense of Indianness and pride in being an Indian in the minds of the children.
In the words Mr D. K. Sarmah, it was a moment worth celebrating, for the NEP 2020 has changed the face of the field education in the country. He held that such significant changes could only be brought about by a policy as progressive and unique as NEP 2020. He elaborated upon the relevance of NISHTA Courses and Community Participation etc

The Meet was attended by members of leading News papers, Principals of 5 schools, Mr. Rajesh Kumar Verma, Principal, JNV Sonitpur Mr. Uttam Kumar Puzari, Principal, Hindustani Kendriya Vidyalaya, Tezpur , Mr Sanjay Sarkar, Principal, KV No.2 AFS Tezpur Mr. D. K. Sharma, I/C Principal, KV No.4 Central University Tezpur Mrs Rinjumoni Kalita, I/C principal, KV NO1 Tezpur, KV No.2 AFS Tezpur and Staff members of the venue Vidyalaya.
