DC takes stock of Covid-19 vaccination status in Tea Garden areas of Sonitpur District

A meeting to review the Covid19 vaccination status in tea garden areas of Sonitpur district was held today at the conference hall of the DC’s office, Sonitpur. The meeting which was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Bhupesh Chandra Das was attended by ADC (Health) Banti Talukdar, Jt DHS Dr. J Ahmed, Asst Labor Commissioner Rupali Pegu, Secretary of TAI and ABITA, MIP Dr Pradip Lahkar, managers of various tea gardens in the district, DIO Dr Biman Sarma, i.c of all BPHCs, SDM&HOs, DPM along with other health department officials.


📌At the very outset, the meeting reviewed the COVID-19 vaccination status in various Tea Estates of the district and decided to adopt a special strategy to cover all left-out beneficiaries.
📌The DC directed the ALC to coordinate with all TGM and regularly monitor the vaccination process in the tea gardens and report regularly to the DC so that appropriate steps can be taken to cover the remaining beneficiaries.
📌The Health department officials were asked to identify the targets in each TE under each BPHC and all SDM&HOs were asked to monitor the TGs under their respective jurisdiction.
📌The meeting decided to conduct special vaccination camps for all those areas where the second dose of vaccines were overdue.
📌The TG management was asked to mobilize the respective population, especially through audio visual awareness campaigns prepared by Sonitpur district administration in those areas where low percentage of second dose coverage was seen.
📌A detailed review of tea estate wise performance of last 6 days from 16-20 October was also done during the meeting.
📌In the meeting it was decided to fix vaccination targets for all coming days and the DC directed the health department to increase the number of vaccination teams as and where required.
📌The DPM and DME were also instructed to conduct special awareness campaigns in TG areas in the next four days, to mobilize the people to come forward and receive the second dose of Covid19 vaccine at the earliest.
📌It was also decided to prepare a list of all persons born before 01-01-2004 who are about to attain 18 years of age as they too are now eligible for first dose of Covid vaccine, as per instruction received from the state government.
