DC Enforces Ban on Smoking & Selling of Tobacco Within 200-meter Radius of Ganesh Ghat

In a significant move aimed at promoting cleanliness and public health, the District Commissioner has issued an order prohibiting smoking and sale of tobacco items as well as spitting of gutka, paan masala, betel nut with pan, tobacco, and related products within a 200-meter radius of Ganesh Ghat and the district commissioner’s office. The discharge or spitting of sputum or saliva has also been prohibited by the order. The directive comes as part of ongoing efforts to maintain the sanctity of public spaces and ensure the well-being of citizens.

Effective immediately, individuals found violating this order will face strict penal action along with a fine of Rs 500. The strict enforcement underscores the administration’s commitment to creating a conducive environment for residents and visitors alike.
