Asomiya Club Tezpur hosts function to felicitate MLA Prithiraj Rabha

Tezpur, August 25 : Adhering to Covid Protocols, the Tezpur Asomiya Club organised a brief function at the Baliram Lahkar Hall of the Club to formally felicitate MLA of 73 Tezpur LAC, Prithiraj Rabha on Monday.

The programme started with a performance of Yoga Asanas by four state level yoga artists under the direction and leadership of Yoga Instructor, Trainer and Artist, Smt Namita Lahkar.

Secretary of Asomiya Club Tezpur, Anudevi Mahanta addressed the gathering with her welcome speech after which Vice President of the club, Sri Pankaj Bora, who is also an internationally acclaimed sportsperson, threw light on health and fitness and its importance. Asomiya Club’s noted member and a Litterateur, Dilip Kumar Barua recollected the fond memories of Prithiraj Rabha’s contribution in Cultural world.

The felicitation programme was presided over by retired Judge and President of Asomiya Club, Aruna Devi who felicitated MLA Prithiraj Rabha, which followed several other socio – cultural and sports organisations of Tezpur felicitating Rabha. The organisations included Body Builder’s Association, Tezpur Chalachitra Mancha, Tezpur Kala Bithika, organisations related to Asomiya Club from Jamugurihat, Rangapara, Bindukuri, Parbatiya, Bihaguri area etc.The meeting was hosted by Meenakshi Goswami, Principal of Chandranath Sarma Memorial HS School.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Rabha recalled his childhood memories and said how he devoted his time to the field of Culture and Sports and how he has been trying to take forward the cultural legacy of his father, Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha. He also expressed his concern over lack of Good actors, novelists and writers in Tezpur. Furthermore, he also talked about 100 days of BJP led Government in Assam and threw light on several schemes, utilization of CM Relief Fund for patients suffering from Cancer, Kidney and heart diseases. He also led importance on the all round development of Tezpur and said that he would render his untiring service for the constituency.
