6-day-long ‘THE SIBUK’ survival expedition reached its goal at Biswanath Ghat.

Biswanath Chariali, April 21 : In the heart of Assam, where the Brahmaputra River winds through the lush landscape, a remarkable journey of survival and determination unfolded. The SIBUK expedition, led by four modern-day adventurers, set out from Baghmora, Jorhat, on April 15th, on a mission to traverse the challenging waters on nothing but a bamboo raft. Arpan Partha, Rishan Doley, and Samuel Haede embarked on this daring adventure, a testament to human resilience and the primal instinct to survive against the odds.

The journey was a saga of courage and survival. As they embarked on the expedition, they were met with the relentless forces of nature that tested their resolve at every turn. Their odyssey was a continuous battle against the elements, marked by a series of daunting challenges that pushed them to their limits: a raft that gave way, skies that opened up, and the stark reality of scarcity—food and hydration were luxuries they could not afford.

Yet, this adventure displayed colossal strength and courage, a testament to the human spirit’s capacity to persevere. Arpan Partha, in a conversation with Tezpur Buzz, revealed the stark nature of their expedition, “We carried no food, not even water. It was a survival expedition, and we relied solely on nature for sustenance. For six days, we fished, foraged for riverbank vegetables, boiled them, and survived on what we could muster. We quenched our thirst with boiled river water. The challenges were relentless. On the third night, we weathered a fierce storm, and upon entering Kaziranga, our raft, Sibuk, collided with a submerged tree trunk. Despite the peril, we emerged unscathed.”

It is a story of adventure, survival, and the triumph of will that will inspire many for years to come.
