Heartbreaking : Atleast 14 dead, over 20 injured in Bus-Truck collision at Dergaon

Jorhat, Jan 3 : Tragedy struck in Assam’s Dergaon on 3rd January around 5 am as a bus, en route to Tinsukia’s Tilinga Mandir with 45 passengers, collided head-on with a coal-laden truck from Margherita.

The collision resulted in 14 fatalities and left 27 others with severe injuries. The group, on a picnic, had set out at 3 am, and as they approached their destination, the terrible accident occurred. The police immediately reached the scene and rescued the injured passengers, who were subsequently admitted to Jorhat Medical College.

The bodies of the deceased were sent for post-mortem examinations. Several injured individuals remain in critical condition.
