Tezpur : ‘The Socialist Organisation’ demands strict probe in Chowk Bazar inferno; proposes immediate reconstruction
On behalf of The Socialist Organization, Trishanu Bhuyan, the President of the organization and former President, Darrang College students Union discussed the complete incident of the deadly fire outbreak in the Chowk Bazaar of Tezpur with the Deputy Commisioner and the MLA of Tezpur on Tuesday. Along with it, they submitted a memorandum of understanding and put forward some demands. President of Sonitpur journalist union, Manoj Kumar Saikia and members of socialist union Dipankar Kalita and Madhurjya Kalita were present during the submission of the memorandum.
They requested the administration and the government to take fast measures regarding this matter.
- Proper investigation should be done regarding the fire outbreak.
- Special provision of compensation and one time help should be provided to the victims and temporary market should be set up for a timewhile.
- Reconstruction of the original market should be started as soon as possible and a preference should be given to the victims to obtain a place there.
Apart from the above mentioned demands the organization also included some of their advices regarding the construction of temporary market in their memorandum. They also demanded the authority to take measures for their safety in the future and made it clear that they would interfere in the matter untill the case is completely settled.
They also mentioned that in the coming time they would make sure the matter gets the deserving attention by means of communication with the victims and made it clear that they would also come forward for the public in the future too.
