Tezpur, May 22 : Minister for Water Resources, I&PR Minister etc., Govt of Assam, Pijush Hazarika chaired a review meeting on performance of various Government schemes and projects in Sonitpur at the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Sonitpur on Friday.
During the meeting, the Minister took stock of the work done by all the departments of the district and the current status quo. He also directed the district administration and departments to ensure the successful implementation of every public welfare scheme like Jal Jeevan Mission, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, procurement of paddy from indigenous farmers etc. Additionally, the district administration was asked to ensure that the people affected by floods receive immediate relief materials, medicines etc.
The meeting was attended by MLAs Padma Hazarika, Krisna Kamal Tanti, Deputy Commissioner Shri Deba Kumar Mishra, Superintendent of Police Shri Sushanta Biswa Sarma, Sonitpur District BJP President, Batash Orang along with the officials of the district administration and various other departments.
