Tezpur : District Disaster Management Committee holds meeting in view of Covid situation in Sonitpur

A meeting of the District Disaster Management Committee was held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of District Magistrate and Chairman, District Disaster Management Authority in the presence of key officials from the health department and representatives of Tezpur Medical College and Hospital to review the preparedness in view of the prevailing COVID 19 situation in the district and rising number of cases.

The District Magistrate called upon all medical officers present to stress on better management of Covid19 positive cases and optimum use of the available resources so that proper treatment and facilities can be made available for the critical patients.
He also issued a slew of directions to all Circle Officers and magistrates to ensure proper enforcement of Covid19 protocol and guidelines as per the latest SOP issued by the Government of Assam along with the Sonitpur district administration and at the same time ensure that people are not harassed unnecessarily.

At the same time, he also asked Addl SP (Hqs) Amar Choudhury to carry out drives against people not wearing face masks properly all over the district. He also urged the general public to know and understand the symptoms of Covid19 and get themselves tested at the earliest at the nearest health centre so that further spread of the disease can be stopped.


He also issued certain instructions for the health department officials to follow for better management of Covid19 cases.
Chief Executive Officer, Sonitpur Zilla Parishad Diganta Baishya, ADC (Health) Arundhati Mipun Narah, Addl SP Amar Choudhury, Jt Director Health Services, Dr J Ahmed, Superintendent TMCH, Dr. Madhab Rajbongshi and heads of various departments were present in the meeting.
