Tezpur, Sep 29 : Deputy Commissioner Bhupesh Chandra Das today chaired a meeting of the District Road Safety Committee for the third quarter of the current year and reviewed the action taken on the points dicussed during the last DRSC meeting. Reviewing the status of installation of road signages, the DC directed the officials of NHIDCL to finish installation of all signages at the earliest and submit report at the earliest. He also directed the District Transport Officer Niren Sarma to verify the same and submit a detailed report to him.
He also reviewed the status of encroachment along the National Highway under Dhekiajuli, Thelamara and Tezpur revenue circles.
The DC directed the officials to explore the possibility of setting up a trauma centre on the Tezpur-Jamuguri stretch at the earliest.
Officials of various line departments were present in today’s meeting.
