Tezpur : Awareness camp held on Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme
An awareness camp on Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) was held today at Tarun Asom Sangha in Tezpur organized by the Khadi & Village Industries Commission, Guwahati in association with the District Industries and Commerce Centre, Sonitpur.
Deputy Commissioner Bhupesh Chandra Das inaugurated the awareness camp by lighting the ceremonial lamp in the presence of Chairperson, Sonitpur Zilla Parishad, Dolly Surin. Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner appealed to the people to come forward to avail the benefits of this very successful scheme and clear any doubts about the rules and procedure of availing loans under this scheme by interacting with the bank and DICC officials.
General Manager, DICC, Sonitpur, Ranjan Kr Bhattacharyya delivered the welcome address and also explained the objectives of the meeting.
The awareness camp has been organized with the objective of attracting young entrepreneurs and to educate them about the various benefits and ways and means to avail subsidies by registering themselves with DICC. As part of the awareness camp, a powerpoint presentation was also made for the participants about how they can avail the benefits of the scheme by applying for the scheme online without having to physically visit the DICC office.
Director, RSETI, Rupam Pathak, Preetom Kumar Nath, AGM, NABARD, officials of KVIC Bablu Sarkar and Medhi were present on today’s occasion. It may be noted that KVIC is the nodal agency for implementation of PMEGP.
