A State-level Residential Volleyball Coaching Camp is currently underway in Tezpur, Assam. Organized by the Office of the District Sports Officer, Sonitpur, in partnership with the Hazarapar Volleyball Coaching Centre, the camp commenced on August 10, 2024, and is set to conclude on August 29, 2024. The venue for this three-week-long camp is the Hazarapar Stadium in Tezpur, providing aspiring volleyball players with an opportunity to hone their skills under expert guidance.
To mark the significance of this event, a ceremonial program was held on August 16, 2024. The occasion was graced by several distinguished guests, including Shri Abhijit Bhattacharya, the former captain of the Indian National Men’s Volleyball Team. Also present were Shri Prithiraj Rava, the Honorable MLA of Tezpur, Shri Deba Kumar Mishra, the District Commissioner of Sonitpur, and Shri Pranjal Dehingia, the District Sports Officer of Sonitpur. Their presence underscored the importance of the coaching camp and its potential impact on nurturing volleyball talent in the region.
