Sonitpur Police conducted drives against illicit drugs and successfully recovered huge amount of drugs in last two days.
On 07/01/2023, as per reliable information, OC Chariduar PS alongwith with staff apprehended one trafficker and recovered 10 no’s of small plastic containers having suspected Heroin. The trafficker identified as Samidul Islam 19 yrs S/O Surman Ali R/O Gudamghat PS- Chariduar. One pulsar M/Cycle and heroin weighting 12.33 gms have been seized. A case has been registered in this regard and further investigation is going on.
On 08/01/2023 two more successful operations were conducted by Tezpur PS. On the basis of reliable source information, I/C Borghat OP along with Staff conducted at Naka checking at Kaliabhomuraguri bridge and apprehended one person Namely Rosidul Haque, 27yrs, S/O-Dulu Miya, Of-Bogamur, PS-Samuguri, Dist-Nagaon.
Two nos. of soap cases containing suspected heroin measuring 24.58gm was recovered from his possession. Further investigation is going on.
Acting on a reliable input I/C Mahabhairab and I/C Borghat OP alongwith Staff, caught one vehicle bearing registration no. AS/ 12/ Q/ 4027 alongwith four person namely 1. Bahar ali (22 yrs) S/O- Sujit Ali of Majbat Adarshagaon PS- Udalguri 2.Ansuma Bosumotary (30 yrs) S/O- Jinaram Basumatary of Majbat Adarshagaon ,PS- Udalguri 3. Dibya Jyoti Rabha (21 yrs) S/O- Shri Jayanta Rabha of Rowmari, PS-Dhekiajuli and 4. Dumarlal Panika (30 yrs) S/O- Mohan Panika of Bihpukhuri Bagan, PS-Majbat. During their interrogation, they confessed that they had sold around 25 kg of ganja to one Anuwar Hussain of Gotlung Namapara Ps-Tezpur.
Accordingly a search was conducted in the house of Anuwar Hussain and found approx 25.786 kg of suspected ganja concealed in a trunk which was buried under the plinth of a newly constructed house. Necessary formalities are being taken and further investigation is going on.
