Meeting held at Tezpur Medical College regarding Covid Management & Treatment facility

Tezpur, May 8 : In view of the rising number of Covid19 cases showing serious symptoms and requiring hospitalization, Deputy Commissioner Manvendra Pratap Singh today visited Tezpur Medical College and Hospital and held an in-depth discussion with the officials and management of Tezpur Medical College and Hospital on the facilities available for treatment of Covid19 patients and planning required for effective management of such cases in the coming days.

The Deputy Commissioner discussed the status of ICU beds, beds with oxygen, availability of oxygen cylinders and other facilities required for treatment of Covid19 patients showing serious symptoms. The meeting also discussed the plan to increase the number of isolation beds in TMCH in case of any exigencies and also reviewed the status of production of oxygen in the plants at TMCH.

It may be noted that a Covid Care Centre at Maternity and Child Hospital at Paruwa in Tezpur is expected to be opened by tomorrow for admitting patients. A 15-bedded ICU is also being readied at MCH Paruwa.

The Deputy Commissioner also took stock of the manpower of health workers who will be required at the Covid Care Centres. He also urged the Principal, TMCH, Dr Karuna Hazarika to insist on achieving 100 per cent vaccination of all staff and health workers at TMCH at the earliest.

ADC Arundhati Mipun Narah, Jt Director Health Services Dr J Ahmed, Nodal Officer for COVID19 management, Dr. Sunanda Tamuly, Dr. Tanvir Alam, Dr Benudhar Nath, District Epidemiologist, Dr. Subhalakshmi Borah,
DPM, NHM, and other senior officials of TMCH were present in the meeting.
