The LAC level competitions of Khel Maharan 2.0 in Sonitpur District have been conducted with great enthusiasm and participation, marking a significant step in promoting sports and youth engagement in the region.
Tezpur LAC: The Tezpur LAC competition was inaugurated on December 8, 2024, by Sjt. Prithiraj Rava, Hon’ble MLA of Tezpur LAC, in the presence of Shri Ankur Bharali, ACS, District Commissioner of Sonitpur; CEO Zilla Parishad, Sonitpur; and Shri Pranjal Dehingia, District Sports Officer, Sonitpur. The competition concluded successfully on December 13, 2024.
Borchalla LAC: On December 12, 2024, the Borchalla LAC competition was inaugurated by Sjt. Ganesh Kumar Limbo, Hon’ble MLA of Borchalla LAC. ADC Garga Mohon Das, ACS, and Shri Pranjal Dehingia, District Sports Officer, Sonitpur, also graced the event. The competition concluded successfully on December 16, 2024.
Rangapara LAC: The Rangapara LAC competition was inaugurated on December 13, 2024, by Sjt. Krishna Kamal Tanti, Hon’ble MLA of Rangapara LAC, in the presence of Shri Pranjal Dehingia, District Sports Officer, Sonitpur. This event concluded successfully on December 17, 2024.
Naduar LAC: On December 15, 2024, the Naduar LAC competition was inaugurated by Sjt. Padma Hazarika, Hon’ble MLA of Naduar LAC, in the presence of Sri Raj Boruah, ACS, CDC, Naduar Co-District, and Shri Pranjal Dehingia, District Sports Officer, Sonitpur. The competition is scheduled to conclude on December 22, 2024.
Dhekiajuli LAC: The Dhekiajuli LAC competition took place from December 8 to December 18, 2024. The closing ceremony was graced by Sjt. Ashok Singhal, Hon’ble Minister of Health & Family Welfare and Irrigation, Government of Assam, and MLA of Dhekiajuli LAC. The event was attended by Shri Ankur Bharali, ACS, District Commissioner of Sonitpur; Dyotiva Borah, ACS, CSC; and Dhekiajuli Co-District officials.
These competitions witnessed enthusiastic participation from athletes across the district, reflecting the vibrant sports culture of Sonitpur.
