Empowering Women in Uniform: Breast Cancer awareness program hosted by Tezpur Cancer Centre

Tezpur Cancer Centre recently conducted a breast cancer screening and awareness program on May 25th for Women Police at the Sonitpur Police Reserve. Mrs. Madhurima Das, Additional SP, alongside Mrs. Mausumi Kalita, Additional SP Crime, Sonitpur, were among the distinguished attendees at the program. Also present were Lt Col Dr. Sanjib Hazarika, retired Medical Superintendent, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Gupta, a Senior Consultant Radiation Oncologist, Dr. Krishnapriya Banerjee, and various other members of the Tezpur Cancer Centre team.

Mrs. Madhurima Das took the honor of inaugurating the program and greeted all participants with a welcoming address. The event featured informative sessions by Dr. Sanjib Hazarika, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Gupta, and Dr. Krishna Priya Banerjee, focusing on the importance of regular screenings, available treatment options, and recognizing early symptoms. The experts engaged the participants in interactive discussions, providing invaluable insights into safeguarding their health and well-being.

A total of 72 women police officers actively participated in the program, with 62 undergoing the breast cancer screening. Their presence and active engagement underscored their commitment to proactive healthcare measures. This collaborative effort between the Women Police and healthcare institutions exemplifies a shared dedication to prioritizing the health and safety of those who serve the community.
