Former Assam Cricketer from Tezpur, Rajib Kalita dies of cardiac arrest
Tezpur, May 15 : In an unfortunate news, Shri Rajib Kalita, a former cricketer from Tezpur passed away on Saturday around 7:30 AM at Tezpur Medical College after he suffered a cardiac arrest. He was 62 years old, and leaves behind his wife, a daughter and a son. Shri Romen Dutta, President, Assam Cricket Association and Shri Devajit Saikia, Secretary, Assam Cricket Association deeply mourned his untimely demise.
A resident of M.C. Road, Tezpur and a retired employee of Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL), Late Rajib Kalita was a former cricketer. He represented Assam in the Cooch Behar Trophy (U-19) in the season 1978-78, besides representing the State in the C.K. Naidu (U-19) Trophy 1979-80. He also represented Tezpur Cricket Association in the Senior Inter-District Cricket Tournament.
