Tezpur, June, 2025: From the scenic streets of Tezpur to the global stages of international diplomacy, Tushar Tayal, a 24-year-old entrepreneur and changemaker, has made the town proud by becoming the youngest Indian to complete the prestigious JCI Grand Slam — representing India across five major global youth conferences on four continents, including the JCI World Congress.
Born and raised in Tezpur, Tushar’s journey is not just one of achievement — it’s a heartfelt tribute to the values, strength, and culture of the city that raised him. Over the last two months, he represented India in Honduras (America Conference), South Africa (Africa & Middle East Conference), Denmark (Europe Conference), Mongolia (Asia-Pacific Conference), and the JCI World Congress — all through self-funded efforts.
At just 24, he also became the youngest JCI Senator of India and was selected as the Chief Delegate of India for both the America and Africa Conferences — an honour given to the most trusted and respected youth voices from across the country.
What makes the town prouder is how Tushar never let go of his roots. Across these international platforms, he made sure Tezpur and Assam were always visible. From sharing stories of the Brahmaputra to gifting traditional gamusas and wearing ethnic Assamese attire, he actively represented the culture and heart of Northeast India.

In Mongolia, at a high-profile United Nations Simulation, Tushar received the Best Country Delegate Award, standing out among representatives from more than 80 countries — including Members of Parliament, diplomats, and policy leaders. He used the platform to speak about India’s youth power, peace-building values, and Assam’s cultural harmony.
Speaking to Tezpur Buzz, Tushar said, “Every time someone asked me where I’m from, I proudly said ‘Tezpur, Assam’. The world may know Delhi or Mumbai, but they deserve to know about Tezpur — our stories, our simplicity, our soul.”
He also shared his gratitude to Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, whose personal support letter meant a lot, and thanked his parents, who have been his pillars since the beginning. Tushar also acknowledged the support of JCI India’s National and Zonal leadership, and his local mentors in Tezpur.
Tushar is the Founder & CEO of Experience Travelidea Pvt. Ltd., a travel and visa consultancy that he started at the age of 17. Today, it operates globally — but his heart, as he says, “still beats for Tezpur.”
As he returns to his hometown after this remarkable Grand Slam, he hopes to inspire more youth from the city to step forward — not just as professionals, but as ambassadors of their roots.
“We don’t need to be born in metros to represent India,” he said. “We just need belief, purpose, and the will to take Tezpur to the world — and bring the world back to Tezpur.”
