On Thursday, 22 April, 2021, the central government authorities announced that vaccine registrations for all those above 18 years will commence on the CoWIN portal (www.cowin.gov.in) and Aarogya Setu app from April 28.
Certain modifications, including the age criteria and a few other features, have been done on the CoWIN platform as it is gearing up to meet the rising demand once the vaccination for all is opened up.
The vaccination for those above 18 years will begin across the country from May 1 as part of the third phase of the inoculation drive.
Assam and several other states such as in Kerala, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh announced free vaccination for all people above the age of 18.
The Centre had launched a nationwide vaccination drive on January 16 for healthcare and frontline workers and expanded it to those above 45 in April.
