Tezpur records 3rd highest rainfall in last 24 hours in NE; Jia Bharali flows above Warning Level
Tezpur, May 13 : On Wednesday evening, heavy rainfall was recorded in Tezpur. Light to moderate showers continued in the wee hours of Thursday also.
Regional Meteorological Centre, Guwahati has issued 24 hours realized rainfall data over North Eastern part of the country. While Amraghat in Assam received highest rainfall recording 47.4 mm, Tezpur received 38.1 mm rainfall, 3rd highest in North East.
An official of Weather Station, Tezpur while speaking to Tezpur Buzz said that rainfall recorded in last 24 hours is the highest for Tezpur till now in this year 2021. It is expected to go high in peak Monsoon season.
Meanwhile, the Central Water Commission official flood forecast has also issued its observation regarding River Jia Bharali at NT crossing road in Sonitpur which continues to flow above Warning Level.
As per its official data, the threshold of Warning Level is 76.0 m and threshold of Danger Level is 77.0 m. As on 8 am of 13th May, it is showing rising trend and expected as on 3 PM of 13th May shows Steady trend.
