Tezpur, June 14, 2025 (Saturday): The Association of Surgeons of India, in partnership with The Association of Surgeons of Assam, is currently organizing National Surgeons Week from June 9-15, 2025. The ongoing week-long celebration is bringing together medical professionals and community members to celebrate surgical excellence across Sonitpur and Biswanath districts.

The week-long celebration has featured multiple health awareness programs and community outreach initiatives designed to promote public health education and medical awareness among local residents.

As part of the ongoing celebrations, a Personal Hygiene Awareness Camp was held at Chandra Nath Sarma Higher Secondary School in Bihaguri on June 11, 2025. This educational program aimed to teach students about the importance of maintaining proper hygiene practices for better health outcomes.

On the same day, medical professionals conducted a Breast Cancer Awareness Programme at Biswanath Science Academy, educating participants about early detection methods and prevention strategies for breast cancer.

The awareness campaign continued on June 13, 2025, with another Breast Cancer Awareness Camp organized at Government Girls School in Tezpur. These programs focused on spreading knowledge about breast health and the importance of regular screening among women and young girls.

A major highlight of National Surgeons Week was the nationwide Blood Donation Camp organized today. In Tezpur, this life-saving initiative took place at the Blood Bank of Tezpur Medical College, where community members came forward to donate blood and support patients in need.

The blood donation drive was part of a larger nationwide effort by the Association of Surgeons of India to address blood shortage issues in hospitals and medical facilities across the country.

Throughout the ongoing week, various awareness programs and health education events have been conducted across both Sonitpur and Biswanath districts. These initiatives have brought medical knowledge directly to schools, colleges, and community centers, making healthcare information accessible to people from different backgrounds.

The programs have been designed to be simple and easy to understand, ensuring that important health messages reach people of all ages and education levels in the community.
