The neurosurgeon’s academic journey has been marked by consistent excellence. After completing his schooling at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Baghchung, and higher secondary education at J.B. College, Jorhat, he pursued his MBBS and postgraduate degree in General Surgery from GMCH. He qualified for the MCh Neurosurgery course in 2023 with an All India Rank of 86.

Dr Bhattacharya’s connection with GMCH spans over a decade. Reflecting on his journey, he recalled being allotted Room No 11 in Hostel NX during his first year of MBBS in August 2011. At the time, construction was underway on what would become the prestigious CN Centre at GMCH. “I graduated 4.5yrs later…still they were making that something.” he shared on social media. “In May, 2022, I saw what they were making…and it’s perhaps the most beautiful synthesis of Science, Engineering and Healthcare.”
