Sonitpur District Hosts Successful Zonal Level Swimming Competition at Khel Maharan 2.0
Jamugurihat, February 11, 2025: The Sonitpur District hosted the Zonal Level Swimming Competition of Khel Maharan 2.0 at the Amritopom Public School Swimming Pool in Kusumtala, Jamugurihat. The event commenced at 10:30 AM and featured around 50 players from four districts—Udalguri, Darrang, Biswanath, and Sonitpur—competing in the U14 and U17 categories for both boys and girls. The competition covered the 50m and 100m Freestyle and Backstroke events.
Sjt. Padma Hazarika, Honorable MLA of Naduar, attended the event as the chief guest. He awarded medals to the winners and delivered an inspiring motivational speech, encouraging the young athletes to pursue their dreams and strive for excellence.
The District Commissioner of Sonitpur, Sri Ankur Bharali, ACS, Co-District Commissioner of Naduar, Sri Raj Boruah, ACS, and District Sports Officer of Sonitpur, Sri Pranjal Dehingia, also presented awards to the winners, adding to the event’s prestige.
The competition was a celebration of sportsmanship and camaraderie among the districts. The young athletes showcased their dedication, skill, and competitive spirit, making the event memorable for everyone involved.
