Sonitpur, July 20, 2025 (Sunday): A group of college-going youth from Balijuri, Sonitpur, took a big step towards protecting their environment. Using their own pocket money, the students planted and distributed more than 100 tree saplings around Balijuri. Their main goal was to help lower the increasing temperature and make their village a greener, friendlier place to live.
What makes this act even more special is that these young people organized the campaign themselves, from collecting funds to planting and sharing the saplings with families in their area. Their dedication shows how even small groups can make a big difference for the environment. The students hope that their work encourages more people to join green initiatives in Sonitpur and beyond.
The villagers and community leaders praised the students, calling their work an example for others to follow. Many believe that if more young people step up like this, villages across the district can become cooler and greener places in the future.
