Tezpur, June 13, 2025 (Friday): The Defence Research Laboratory (DRL) under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) in Tezpur organized a blood donation camp today to mark World Blood Donor Day. The event was held in partnership with Kanaklata Civil Hospital Tezpur.
This year’s World Blood Donor Day theme, “Give blood, give hope: together we save lives,” perfectly captured the spirit of the camp. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the critical importance of blood donation and encourage more people to become regular donors.

The blood donation camp saw enthusiastic participation from DRDO staff, local residents, and volunteers who came forward to donate blood for this life-saving cause. The event successfully created awareness about the ongoing need for safe blood supplies in healthcare facilities.
Kanaklata Civil Hospital Tezpur, which partnered with DRL-DRDO for this initiative, provided medical support and ensured all safety protocols were followed during the donation process. The hospital’s medical team was present throughout the camp to assist donors and collect blood samples safely.

World Blood Donor Day is observed annually on June 14 to honor voluntary blood donors and raise awareness about the need for safe blood and blood products. This blood donation camp was an early initiative to mark the occasion and encourage participation.
The success of this blood donation camp reflects the commitment of DRDO Tezpur and the local community toward supporting healthcare initiatives. Such events play a crucial role in maintaining adequate blood supplies for emergency medical situations and routine treatments.

The organizers expressed gratitude to all participants who contributed to this noble cause and emphasized the importance of regular blood donation drives in saving lives.
