ACS Officer K.K Sharma caught red handed while accepting bribe of Rs. 90K; INR 50 Lakh recovered during Search ops

Guwahati, Oct 29 : In a late evening operation on Friday, team from Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-corruption dept, Assam trapped red handed and arrested K.K Sharma, Joint Secretary to Govt of Assam for accepting bribe of Rs. 90,000.

Special DGP, GP Singh informed that the ACS officer was caught red hand while accepting INR 90k from complainant for renewal of security firm license.

Further to his trap & arrest, a search operation at his residential premise has led to recovery of unaccounted cash INR 49 Lacs 24 thousand 700. “The same is being seized and lawful action taken.” said GP Singh through a tweet.

K.K Sharma was earlier posted in Tezpur for some of years and also served as Addl. Deputy Commissioner of Sonitpur District.

The Special DGP thanked Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma for showing trust upon the vigilance and Anti-corruption dept. Taking to Twitter, he wrote, “Relentless, অদম্য || Thank you Hon @CMOfficeAssam @himantabiswa Sir for trust reposed in @DIR_VAC_ASSAM and supporting us through our campaign to free our state of corruption.”
