Two important review meetings were held on the same day at the Conference Hall-I of the Office of the District Commissioner, Sonitpur, bringing together senior officials to assess land-related matters and revenue collection efficiency across the district.
The meetings were chaired by District Commissioner, Sonitpur, Shri Ananda Kumar Das, who also serves as Chairman of the Sub-Divisional Land Advisory Committees (SDLACs) and Circle Development Level Advisory Committee (CDLAC).
SDLAC and CDLAC Meetings for Barchalla, Tezpur and Naduar LACs
The SDLAC meetings for Barchalla and Tezpur Legislative Assembly Constituencies, along with the CDLAC meeting for Naduar Legislative Assembly Constituency, were conducted to review key land governance issues.
The SDLAC meeting for Barchalla and Tezpur was attended by the Chairperson of the Tezpur Municipal Board, Circle Officers of Thelamara, Dhekiajuli and Tezpur Revenue Circles, and other concerned members. Shri Kamal Baruah, Additional District Commissioner (Revenue), Sonitpur, and Co-District Commissioner, Barchalla, was also present.
The CDLAC meeting for Naduar was attended by the Chairpersons of Jamugurihat and Sootea Municipal Boards, Co-District Commissioner, Naduar, Shri Manash Kumar Saikia, Co-District Commissioner, Dhekiajuli, Smti Dyotiva Bora, Circle Officers of Naduar and Chariduar Revenue Circles, and other committee members.
The committees reviewed matters related to Mission Basundhara 2.0, land settlement cases of Tea Garden Labour Lines, VGR/PGR cases, and other related issues. Emphasis was laid on the timely disposal of cases and ensuring effective coordination among the concerned departments.
District Level Monitoring Committee Reviews Revenue Collection
On the same day, the District Level Monitoring Committee met under the chairmanship of Shri Ananda Kumar Das to review the trend of revenue collection efficiency in Sonitpur district.
The meeting was attended by Co-District Commissioners Smti Dyotiva Bora (Dhekiajuli), Shri Manash Kumar Saikia (Naduar), and Shri Kamal Baruah (Barchalla), along with Assistant Commissioners, the Divisional Forest Officer, West Division, Sonitpur, and other officials.
The committee assessed the current status of revenue collection and discussed measures to enhance efficiency, strengthen monitoring mechanisms, and ensure the timely realisation of government revenues.
Together, the meetings underscored the district administration’s focus on improving land governance, expediting case disposal, and strengthening revenue administration through coordinated efforts.
