Devotees unite as 67th Akhanda Harikirtan nears completion in Jamugurihat

Jamugurihat, October 29, 2025 (Wednesday): Extensive preparations are nearing completion for the 67th Akhanda Harikirtan (৬৭তম অখণ্ড হৰিকীৰ্ত্তন) at the late Shree Narayan Samannay Kshetra in West Chari Pukhuri, Rangachakua, Jamugurihat. According to the organizing committee, nearly 80 percent of the groundwork has already been completed ahead of the three-day celebration.

Organized by the North Jamuguri Harikirtan Samiti and hosted by the Achyuta Punarjanma Kirtan Sangha and Rama Mahila Kirtan Sangha, this year’s event promises to draw devotees from across the region. The festival, renowned for its spiritual depth and community participation, is expected to bring together a vibrant blend of devotion, music, and cultural unity.

The program will begin on October 31 with environmental cleaning and other preparatory activities. The main Akhanda Harikirtan ceremony will take place on November 1 and continue day and night with devotional singing. Around 126 male and female Kirtan groups are expected to perform, filling the air with the chants of “Hare Krishna” and “Hare Ram.”
