
Tezpur, June 5, 2025 (Thursday): The Regional Laboratory Office (RLO) of the Pollution Control Board, Tezpur, Assam, concluded its World Environment Day 2025 campaign with five events on June 5, completing a comprehensive two-week initiative that reached over 400 students across the region.
At Adarsha Vidyapeeth Prathamik Vidyalay, Biswanath Chariali, 120 students participated in awareness talks on biodiversity and single-use plastics, an art competition, and tree plantation drive organized by Biswanath College and the Zoological Society of Assam in collaboration with RLO Tezpur.

At Balipara HS School, nearly 300 students engaged in a comprehensive program featuring awareness sessions on plastic pollution, a highly appreciated stage play on plastic misuse dangers, award distribution for previous WED-2025 pre-campaign participants, and distribution of tree saplings. The stage play received particular acclaim for its engaging performance and strong environmental messaging.

These final events completed RLO Tezpur’s WED-2025 Pre-Campaigning Initiative (May 22 – June 5), which conducted 17 total events across schools, colleges, industrial units, public spaces, and marketplaces. The campaign included awareness sessions, art and quiz competitions, street plays, plantation drives, plastic alternatives demonstrations, and cleanliness drives, successfully combining education with practical environmental action to address plastic pollution and promote biodiversity conservation.
