Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2025 Held at Tezpur University

The National Service Scheme (NSS), Tezpur University (TU), in collaboration with the Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan successfully started the two-day Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2025 (VBYP 2025) on 17 March. The event aims to provide a dynamic platform for young minds to engage in meaningful discussions on national issues and contribute to the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.

The event saw the participation of 150 enthusiastic students from Sonitpur and Udalguri districts. The participants engaged in vibrant discussions on the topic “One Nation, One Election,” exploring its potential benefits and challenges. The session provided a platform for young voices to critically analyze policy issues and propose innovative solutions.

Prof. KC Biswal, Registrar, TU; Dr. Dulumoni Nath, Principal, Tezpur Law College; Mr. AS Kabir, Resource Person, Nehru Yuva Kendra; and Dr. Tridib R Sarma, Head, Department of Business Administration, TU, served as judges for the deliberations.

Prof. Shambhu Nath Singh, Vice Chancellor, TU, commended the initiative and emphasized the importance of youth engagement in nation-building. He stated, “Through structured debates and discussions, the youth will gain a deeper understanding of India’s robust democratic process and governance.”

Dr. Apurba Saha, faculty coordinator, NSS, TU, and Dr. Sarmistha Das, Programme Officer, NSS, TU, were also present on the occasion. The second day of the event will feature further deliberations, followed by the announcement of winners and a valedictory ceremony.
