Tezpur : National Seminar on “National Education Policy – 2020: Issues & Challenges” held at LGB Girl’s College

Tezpur, Nov 12 : Lokopriyo Gopinath Bordoloi Girls’ College, Tezpur in collaboration with Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, Tezpur University and Assam College Principal Council organised a National Seminar on “National Education Policy – 2020: Issues and Challenges” at the premises of LGB Girls College on November 11, 2022. Prof (Dr.) Nani Gopal Mahanta, Education Advisor, Government of Assam, while gracing the event as the Chief Guest, made some important remarks on specific issues and said that the new National Education Policy will revolutionize the field of education.

Prof. Dulumoni Goswami, Head of Department of Education, Gauhati University, Dr. Debendra Chandra Baruah, Professor from Department of Energy, Tezpur University and Dr. Ranjan Kalita, General Secretary, ACPC were the Guests of Honour. Dr. Tapan Kumar Kalita, Principal, LGB Girls’College started the seminar with a welcome speech. Prof Prof. Nani Gopal Mahanta inaugurated the book titled ” National Education Policy 2020: Issues and Challenges”, edited by Dr. Barnali Sarmah, published by the Publication Cell, LGB Girls’College, Tezpur.

The seminar witnessed a gallery of intellectuals from various educational departments around the state. Prof. Abhijit Bora, from the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, Tezpur University highlighted the importance and challenges of the National Education Policy 2020. President of Tezpur Sahitya Sabha Dr. Bhupen Saikia, Former President of All Assam Lekhika Samaroh, Dr. Charu Saharia Nath and Principal of Loknayak Omiya Kumar Das College, Dr. Sukdev Adhikari also made their presence in the national seminar. Prof. Pallab Bhattacharya ran the programme smoothly acting as the moderator
