Tezpur, April 10 : In a mainstream society, Biking is often considered Male dominated thing, but with changing times, besides the same autogear scooters, a lot of women have taken to the roads for rigorous biking.
One such example is the story of the three Female Riders- Nirmali Nath from Guwahati, Assam, Onen Nenty from Nagaland and Rosalynn Lushai Gal from Mizoram taking the off roads and smashing gender stereotypes.
They have just completed their Seven Sisters Ride (a tour of all Northeastern states) on 9th April. The bikers flagged off their journey from Guwahati and thereby covered all prominent destinations of Northeast.
On 9th April, they reached Tezpur through Dimapur Manza route and were received by Nikhil, Anup, Deepjyoti, Raj and Pranshu. They further headed to Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh to formally complete the ride.
Nirmali Nath, one of the riders shared the adventurous experience after completing the ride. She writes ~
“Superb highways, some off roads, met lots of riders and local people, felicitation from bikers club and Arunachal Tourism Forum, so much support and love from everyone. We are getting so emotional and our teary eyes of happiness.
When we planned this ride initially, we have not expected so much of impact. The best thing that happened is what we always wanted. We connected with lady riders from all NE states and we will plan a big ride soon with them. Can’t thank you all enough for such overwhelming response, blessings, wishes and love”.
