155 Base Hospital and Dorika Hospital, Tezpur, Sign MoU to Enhance Medical Support for Armed Forces, Ex‑Servicemen and Their Dependants

Tezpur, December 10, 2025 (Wednesday): A healthcare partnership was formalised between 155 Base Hospital and Dorika Hospital in Tezpur, following a recent emergency that demonstrated the critical value of civil-defence medical cooperation.

The collaboration gained urgency after a critically injured Air Force officer recently underwent life-saving neurosurgery at Dorika Hospital at the specific request of 155 Base Hospital. The officer, who is now recovering well and out of danger, received emergency treatment that highlighted the effectiveness of seamless coordination between military and civilian medical establishments.

Building on this success, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to formalise the partnership. The agreement enables Dorika Hospital, a premier superspeciality institute in Tezpur, to provide comprehensive in-patient, out-patient, clinical, and laboratory services to serving soldiers, veterans, and their dependants during peacetime, war-like scenarios, and natural calamities.

Brig Manoj Prashar, Commandant, on behalf of 155 Base Hospital, and Mr Spondon Hazarika, Managing Director of Dorika Hospital, signed the MoU at a ceremony attended by senior military officials. The Indian Army was represented by Brig Kuldeep Kumar Ashta, VSM (Brig Med, 4 Corps), Col Manju Rajappan (PM), Lt Col Akshay Pushkar (Offg Sr Registrar & OC Troops), and Sub Maj R.K. Singh (Senior JCO & Adm SM), whilst Mr Shreyansh Dugar attended on behalf of Dorika Hospital.

The partnership marks a significant advancement in military-civilian healthcare cooperation, ensuring timely access to quality speciality and superspeciality medical services for Armed Forces personnel in remote and strategically important areas. Both institutions have reaffirmed their shared commitment to safeguarding the health and well-being of the Armed Forces community.
