Tezpur, June 5 : “World Environment Day” was observed by Indian Medical Association, Tezpur Branch on 05/06/2022 with great enthusiasm under the able leadership of Dr. Atul Kumar Kalita, President, IMA Tezpur Branch, Dr. T. B. Chetri, Superintendent KCH Tezpur, Dr. Queen Gogoi Das, Hony, Secretary, IMA Tezpur Branch.
The theme of the programme was ‘Only One Earth’.
Plantation was carried out at the premises of Kanaklata Civil Hospital along with a cleanliness drive in and around the facility.
In order to generate awareness and to keep the environment green, plant saplings were also distributed among the public.
An awareness meeting was also held amongst shopkeepers, local public. Dr. Atul Kumar Kalita President, IMA Tezpur and Sri Dip Kalita, Social Worker deliberated in the meeting. A cleanliness monitoring committee was also formed and monthly follow up monitoring, cleanliness was also proposed. Awareness banners were displayed.
The observation of World Environment Day was successfully carried out trying to fulfill the objective to a great height by IMA Tezpur Branch with immense support of Tezpur Municipal Board, Forest department through Sonitpur West Division.
