Tezpur, July 21 : In view of the rising instances of child labour in the Sonitpur district, the District child Labour Task force geared up to rescue the child labour from Joymoti Pathar Tezpur and Nam Deurigaon on 20th July 2021, jointly with District Administration, Labour Department & Sonitpur Police as per the provisions of Child and Adolescent Labour Act 2016.
The team was led by Ms.Simi Kiran Executive Magistrate & Asst Commissioner Tezpur accompanied by Shri.Dhruba Jyoti Borah, Labour inspector, Ms Poppy Das, Protection officer (Institutional care) DCPU Sonitpur and Shri Harshajyoti Phukan,Social Worker DCPU Sonitpur respectively.
The team successfully rescued two minor children below the age of 14 yrs and later transferred to Softseed Children home, Tezpur for their need for care and Protection.
