Tezpur University today announced the release of the second issue of the first volume of its Multidisciplinary Research Journal (MRJ), a peer-reviewed quarterly publication. The launch event, held on the university premises, was attended by a distinguished gathering of researchers, academicians, principals of local colleges, and heads of administrative units of Tezpur University.
Professor Shambhu Nath Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Tezpur University, presided over the release function and highlighted the institution’s long-standing commitment to interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary education and research, which has gained significant momentum following the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020. He noted that the establishment of the Centre for Multidisciplinary Research in 2020 and the recent School of Multidisciplinary Studies further solidify these efforts.
Launched in January 2025, the Multidisciplinary Research Journal has already achieved indexing by several global databases and has been assigned the International Standard Serial Number (ISSN: 3049-2718).

Professor Debendra Chandra Baruah, Editor-in-Chief of MRJ, acknowledged the invaluable contributions of the editorial team, contributors, and reviewers in ensuring the successful and timely release of the current issue while maintaining high academic standards.
Notably, the Multidisciplinary Research Journal is the first of its kind in the entire North East region, publishing research articles that integrate insights from Humanities and Social Sciences, Science and Engineering, and Business and Commerce. The journal showcases research that combines basic and applied approaches across multiple disciplines to address pressing contemporary challenges and inform policy and practice.
The current issue features a total of 24 articles contributed by 74 authors from over 25 national and international affiliated institutions, covering a wide range of multidisciplinary domains including health and well-being, environment protection, food quality diagnostics, natural resource conservation, tradition, and culture-society.
