Tezpur Medical College Blood Centre commemorates World Blood Donor Day

The Blood Centre at Tezpur Medical College celebrated World Blood Donor Day on June 14, with great enthusiasm and gratitude under this year’s slogan, “20 Years of Giving: Thank You Blood Donors.” The event was dedicated to acknowledging the invaluable contributions of blood donors and the organizations that facilitate blood donation drives. A special felicitation program was organized to honor various organizations involved in conducting blood donation camps. Among the recognized entities were the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Military Hospital Missamari, Indian Air Force, Indian Red Cross Society, LIC Dhekiajuli, NF Railway Mazdoor Union, RD Motors, and Warriors NGO. Each of these organizations has played a crucial role in promoting and facilitating blood donation, significantly contributing to the health and well-being of the community.

To further promote the cause of blood donation, the Blood Centre organized a free blood grouping and blood donation awareness kiosk. This kiosk provided essential information about the benefits of blood donation and offered free blood grouping services to attendees. In a proactive effort to raise awareness about the importance of blood donation, a blood donation awareness drive was conducted the day before yesterday. This drive targeted the business establishments opposite Tezpur Medical College Hospital (TMCH). Employees of these establishments were informed about the benefits of blood donation and encouraged to participate and spread the word within the general public.
