Tezpur College NCC Cadet commands Guard of Honour at Republic Day Camp in Delhi

A student from Tezpur College achieved a rare distinction by commanding the Combined Guard of Honour presented to Vice President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar during his visit to the Republic Day Camp in Delhi.

Senior Under Officer Kuki Rabha, representing the 5 Assam Battalion NCC Tezpur Group, led the ceremonial guard during the Vice President’s visit to the ongoing camp in the capital. The fifth-semester BA student from the Department of Assamese was selected for this prestigious role amongst cadets from across the country. Miss Rabha, daughter of Kabita Rabha and Rajen Rabha from Na-Ali in Tezpur, becomes one of the few cadets from the Northeast to command such a high-profile ceremonial parade.

The Republic Day Camp, held annually in Delhi ahead of the national celebrations on 26 January, brings together the finest NCC cadets from all states for various competitions, cultural programmes, and ceremonial duties. Selection to command the Guard of Honour for dignitaries is considered amongst the highest achievements in the NCC, recognising exceptional leadership, drill proficiency, and dedication to service.
