Tezpur College and Russia Unite in Landmark Youth Scientific Dialogue on Shared Futures

In a milestone moment for academic diplomacy, Tezpur College and the Donetsk Branch of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) jointly hosted an International Youth Scientific Dialogue on 3rd March 2026. The event, conducted under the theme “Russia and India: Economy, Education and Culture – Unity in Diversity”, brought together researchers, academics, and young scholars from both nations to examine the deep and enduring bonds between two of the world’s most culturally rich societies.

The seminar was held simultaneously at the Conference Hall of the RANEPA Donetsk Branch in Russia and online at Tezpur College, with proceedings conducted in both Russian and English. This was a symbolic reflection of the event’s spirit of mutual understanding and cross-cultural exchange.

The opening remarks were delivered by Larisa Borisovna Kostrovets, Director of the Donetsk Institute of Management, who welcomed participants and underscored the significance of youth-led academic dialogue in strengthening bilateral relations. The keynote address was then delivered by Dr. Manoj Kumar Hazarika, Principal of Tezpur College, who described the event as a matter of great pride for the institution and a meaningful step in fostering Indo-Russian academic ties.

The plenary speech was delivered by Dr. Pranjit Hazarika, Retired Head of the Department of Political Science, who offered scholarly reflections on the historical and contemporary dimensions of the Russia-India relationship. Dr. Samikshya Madhukullya, former Guest Faculty at the Department of Cultural Studies, Tezpur University, also addressed the conference in English, contributing perspectives on the cultural dimensions of the bilateral relationship.

A total of thirteen research papers were presented across the dialogue, nine from scholars on the Russian side and four from Indian participants. These papers spanned themes of economic cooperation, educational exchange, and cultural interconnection. The programme was coordinated by Victoria Valerievna Romanyuk in Russian and Dr. Anurag Hazarika in English, ensuring seamless bilingual proceedings throughout the day.

The event was sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, lending institutional weight to what participants described as a rich and productive exchange of ideas. For Tezpur College, the dialogue marks a notable expansion of its international footprint. It reinforces the role that regional Indian colleges can play on the global academic stage.
